Subscribe FreeIn 1884, the fanatical Muslim leader Muhammad Ahmad (Olivier) faces off against General Charles George Gordon (Heston) in the Sudanese city of Khartoum. There, Gordon learns that Ahmad intends to conquer other cities to establish a vast empire under his leadership. Convinced that war is inevitable, Gordon prepares the Egyptian troops under his command for an epic battle to defend the ancient city. There are no supplements, though this version does include the original roadshow engagement intermission and overture. (Suzanne Hodges)
