In a galaxy far, far away...The Star Wars saga continues in this first-ever animated feature from Lucasfilm Animation that features familiar characters and a host of new ones. As The Clone Wars sweep through the galaxy, Anakin Skywalker (Lanter) and his new Padawan learner Ahsoka Tano (Eckstein) plunge into a dangerous mission to rescue the kidnapped son of Crime Lord Jabba the Hutt (Richardson). The renegade Count Dooku (Lee) is determined to make sure that they fail, and with his deadly assassin Asajj Ventress (Futterman) in pursuit, this is a mission with grave consequences. Meanwhile, on the front lines, Obi-Wan Kenobi (Taylor) and Master Yoda (Kane) lead the massive clone army in a valiant effort to defeat the droid army and resist the forces of the dark side. (Gary Reber)

The 1080p VC-1 2.35:1 reference picture quality is fabulous! Color fidelity is naturally rendered for animation with blacks and fine shadow detail. Absolutely noise and artifact free, this is a striking picture with superb contrast and a sense of three-dimensionality. This is definitely one of the finest transfers achieved in animation. (Gary Reber)

The Dolby® TrueHD soundtrack is wonderful, with a dynamic symphonic orchestral score that presents a wide and deep soundstage and an aggressive enveloping presence in the surrounds, including the center back, with occasional directional spaceship pans. The envelopment is holosonic®. As with most animated features, ADR dialogue is forward-prominent and lacks the spatial integration desired to enhance realism. Nonetheless, this is a remarkable soundtrack for the integration of sound effects and Foley effects. Exciting throughout, bass is intense and aggressive, even in the surrounds. The LFE .1 channel is powerful, with bass effects below 25 Hz. At times, all the channels reach full SPL level, which can be system threatening. Overall, this is a reference soundtrack that will please Star Wars fans. (Gary Reber)
