Traitor is a taut international thriller set against a puzzle of covert counter-espionage operations. When straight-arrow FBI agent Roy Clayton (Pearce) investigates a dangerous international conspiracy responsible for a prison break in Yemen, a bombing in Nice, and a raid in London, all clues seem to lead back to former U.S. Special Operations Officer, Samir Horn (Cheadle). But a tangle of contradictory evidence emerges, forcing Clayton to question whether his suspect is a disaffected former military operative—or something far more complicated. Obsessed with discovering the truth, Clayton tracks Horn across the globe as the elusive ex-solider burrows deeper and deeper into a world of shadows and intrigue. (Gary Reber)

Special features include audio commentary with Writer/Director Jeffrey Nachmanoff and Actor Don Cheadle, Action! The Stunts And Special Effects Of Traitor (SD/HD 4:39) and International Espionage: An In-Depth Look At Traitor's Exotic Locations (SD/HD 5:13) featurettes, the theatrical trailer, and a digital copy of the movie.

The 1080p AVC 2.40:1 picture is nicely rendered, with superb color fidelity, deep blacks, and excellent shadow delineation. Colors, at times, are desaturated for effect. The noise-free and artifact-free picture is pristine. Resolution is superb, as well, with textures and fleshtones nicely detailed. Fleshtones are perfectly natural, which contributes to the gripping realism of the film. The cinematography is beautiful as well, with differing feels, depending on the locations. This is overall a pleasing experience. (Gary Reber)

The Dolby® TrueHD 5.1-channel soundtrack is nicely recorded and engaging. Dialogue is often ADR looped, but overall spatial integration is good. Sound and Foley effects are well executed in all channels and provide enhanced realism to each scene. The exotic music score is wonderful and very well recorded, with deep bass and excellent dynamics and imaging. Bass extends to below 25 Hz at times and otherwise provides a deep foundation to the effects. Often the soundfield is holosonic® enveloping, with aggressive surrounds that heighten the action. This is an excellent soundtrack that is sure to please. (Gary Reber)
