Arnold Schwarzenegger puts on his trademark shades and leather jacket to return as a time-traveling T-101 Terminator in this smash hit by Jonathan Mostow ("U-571"), taking over the directing reigns from James Cameron. He's back to protect youthful Earth Resistance leader John Connor (Stahl) and an unsuspecting veterinarian (Danes) who's stunned to learn her destiny is linked with Connor. But protecting the two is easier said than done. An awesome new foe is programmed to terminate them—a state-of-the-art T-X (Loken) who's smarter and stronger than a T-101. Let Round 3 begin!

Special features include the In-Movie Experience; an introduction by Arnold Schwarzenegger; a 13-minute HBO First Look featurette; storyboards; a two-minute Dressed To Kill featurette; three commentary tracks: one with cast and crew, one with the director, and one with the crew; a deleted scene; a blooper reel; a seven-minute action figure featurette, Toys In Action; a nine-minute Making Of The Video Game featurette; the theatrical trailer; and the PC game trailer.

With well-rendered hues and impressive shadow delineation, the VC-1-encoded 2.40:1 HD DVD picture is very impressive. Source element artifacts and edge enhancement are not a problem, and the details are well resolved. (Danny Richelieu)

The intense Dolby® Digital Plus 5.1-channel soundtrack features incredible dynamics, well-placed images, and incredible fidelity making it one of the best encodings HD DVD has offered to date. (Danny Richelieu)
