In Zombieland, nerdy college student Columbus (Eisenberg) has survived the plague that has turned mankind into flesh-devouring zombies, because he's scared of just about everything. Gun-toting, Twinkie-loving Tallahassee (Harrelson) has no fears. Together, they are about to stare down their most horrifying challenge yet: each other's company. (Gary Reber)

Special features include commentary with Actors Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg, Director Ruben Fleischer, and Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick; the In Search Of Zombieland behind-the-scenes making-of featurette (HD 15:57); the Zombieland Is Your Land featurette (HD 11:59); seven deleted scenes (HD 05:27); four visual effects progression scenes (HD 02:08); theatrical trailers; MovieIQ; BD-Live functionality; and a digital copy of the film.

Shot in high-definition, the 1080p AVC picture, during some Zombieland scenes, exhibits dingy overcast imagery, which dulls the color palette with a pasty appearance. Still, the picture appears generally natural. Flashbacks are bright, with saturated hues and accurate fleshtones, and the amusement park scenes are nicely saturated and colorful. Dark scenes are really dark, and shadows are not always discernible. Resolution appears slightly soft, especially during some Zombieland scenes, and is sharper and clearer otherwise. The picture appears inconsistent and generally undistinguished, though, there are scenes that are visually striking. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack is conventionally produced, with production sound and ADR dialogue that mostly sounds integrated spatially. The narrative is well balanced, with a slight forwardness. The sound design often misses opportunities for effective surround envelopment, limiting the sound to the frontal soundstage. The energized rock music score provides a wide spread and depth to the surrounds, and atmospheric sound effects can enhance the sense of depth and directionality within the soundfield. Bass extension, at times, is deep in the .1 LFE channel, and surround envelopment is particularly aggressive in the ending amusement scene. But overall, this is not a remarkable soundtrack and misses the mark of sonic excellence. (Gary Reber)
