Based on the book by Robert C. O'Brien, Z For Zachariah takes place as a disaster wipes out most of civilization. In the wake of the diaster, two men and a young woman find themselves in an emotionally charged love triangle as the last known survivors in this post-apocalyptic story. (Gary Reber)

Special features include a making-of featurette (HD 11:28); four deleted scenes (HD 06:00); extended interviews with Actors Chiwetel Ejiofor and Margot Robbie, Director Craig Zobel, and Screenwriter Nissar Modi (HD 20:14); upfront previews; and an UltraViolet digital copy.

The 2.38:1 1080p AVC picture is naturally rendered with a perfectly balanced color palette that exhibits rich and warm hues throughout. Nothing is exaggerated. Skies are blue, and the fields are green and gold, with a greenish backdrop of planted fields, forest, and mountainous hills. Fleshtones are natural throughout as well. Contrast is well balanced with deep blacks and revealing shadow detail. Resolution is excellent, with fine detail revealed in facial features, hair, clothing, and object texture. This is such a beautifully natural picture with a warm feel that is sure to delight. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack is dialogue focused with quiet background presence and soft orchestral support. Atmospherics are naturally weighted and enhance the realism of the country setting. Sounds are nuanced with subtle surround envelopment. The Foley element is perfect as well. Sound effects are limited and subtly executed. Deep bass is pretty much non-existent. Dialogue is perfectly natural, with excellent spatial integration. While this is a dialogue-focused soundtrack, the nuanced atmospherics and music score nicely support the compelling storytelling. (Gary Reber)
