"The Addams Family" is back in their first animated comedy about the kookiest family on the block, who redefine what it means to be a good neighbor. (Gary Reber)

Special features include four deleted and extended scenes (HD 06:14); four featurettes: "Welcome To The Family" (HD 06:03), "Life Of A Scene" (HD 03:22), "Charades With Thing* (HD 03:32) and "Addams Family Throwback (HD 01:05); the "Haunted Heart" lyric video performed by Christina Aguilera (HD 02:50); the "My Family" lyric video performed by Migos, Karol G., Rock Mafia & Snoop Dogg (HD 01:05); upfront previews and a Movies Anywhere digital code.

The 1.85:1 1080p AVC picture, reviewed on a Sony Bravia Z9D 4K Ultra HD HDR display, upconverted to 2160p with greater resolution and luminance, was animated digitally and sourced from a 2K master Digital Intermediate format. While exhibited theatrically also in 3D with conversion by DNEG, no 3D Blu-ray was provided for review. Picture quality is superb with a wonderfully vivid and saturated color palette. Hues are rich and warm, yet vibrant, often popping off the screen. The range of hues and subtleties is impressive. Contrast is excellent. Black levels are deep and shadow delineation is nicely articulated. Luminance levels are excellent with a sense of naturalness with non-exaggerated white levels. Resolution is incredibly detailed, revealing nuanced textures. Character detail is excellent with excellent spatial dimension. This is an impressive animation work with every frame visually engaging and reference quality. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 7.1-channel soundtrack delivers excellent fidelity and dynamics with a diverse orchestral score that wraps wide and deep across the soundstage, extending aggressively to the four surrounds. Instrumental and singing clarity is superb. The organ segments are wonderful. The music has a nice bass foundation to extend deep. Of course, sound effects, such as explosions and other mayhem also are nicely supported with bass weight and extend aggressively to the surrounds. The .1 LFE extension never sounds exaggerated. Foley sound effects are perfectly in sync with the visuals and sound realistic. ADR dalogue is perfectly intelligible and nicely integrated, sounding spatially natural. This is a very active holosonic® soundtrack that sounds great. (Gary Reber)
