    In "Beverly Hills Cop II," Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) is back where he doesn't belong, this time going "deep, deep undercover" to stop a gang of international munitions smugglers. Also returning in this sequel are Judge Reinhold and John Ashton as Murphy's crime-busting sidekicks, ready to unleash blazing gunfire alongside rapid fire gags. (Gary Reber)

    The 2.35:1 1080p AVC 4K Ultra HD Dolby Vision/HDR10 picture, reviewed on a Sony Bravia Z9D 4K Ultra HD HDR display, upconverted to 2160p with greater resolution and luminance, was photographed on Eastman film stock in Super 35 using the Arriflex 35-III, Panavision Panaflex Gold, and Panavision Panaflex Platinum camera systems and sourced from a 4K master Digital Intermediate format. Film grain is slight and never objectionable. Color fidelity is excellent with natural hues and well-balanced saturation. Often color pop such as the Ferrari red. Flesh tones are perfectly natural. HDR contrast is excellent with natural black levels and excellent shadow delineation, White levels are natural. Resolution is revealing with fine detail exhibited in facial features including complexions, skin pores, facial lines, moles and hair. Environmental feature exhibit good clarity. Clothing attire and object textures are superbly defined. This is a sharp filmic presentation that is visually engaging throughout. This is the best the film has looked. (Gary Reber)

    The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1-channel soundtrack features a terrific music score that is well recorded and delivers an engaging surround presence. Fidelity is excellent as well as dynamics with deep, solid bass extension and foot-tapping tempos. Sound effects are prominent throughout from car and truck crashes to explosions and blasts of gunfire from all directions. Atmospherics and din create effective realism. Soundstage dimensionality is nicely defined and extends to the surrounds. This holds true for environmental exteriors and interiors of police stations in Detroit and Beverly Hills. This is a terrifically engaging holosonic® soundtrack that delivers excitement. (Gary Reber)
