"Devotion" is the epic and inspirational true story of two elite U.S. Navy fighter pilots who helped turn the tide in the most brutal battle in the Korean War: Jesse Brown, the first Black aviator in Navy history and his fellow fighter pilot and friend, Tom Hudner. Their heroic sacrifices and enduring friendship would ultimately make them the Navy's most celebrated wingmen. (Gary Reber)

Special features include the featurettes "The Aviation Of A Forgotten War" (HD 11:17) and "The Legacy Of Jesse Brown" (HD 12:03) and a digital copy.

The 2.39:1 2160p HEVC/H.265 Ultra HD Dolby Vision/HDR10 picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, was photographed digitally in anamorphic Panavision® using the Panavision Millennium DXL2, Red Komodo and Sony CineAlta Venice 2 camera systems and sourced from a 4K master Digital Intermediate format. The picture exhibits realism of Navy Aviation and the fighter pilots. The color palette favors greenish blue hues depicted on and around the aircraft carrier, from which the action is launched. Colors against this setting appear natural and realistic throughout. The French Canes scene colors are the most vibrant, as swell as in Jesse's home. HDR contrast is a bit on the darker side with deeply strong blacks, dark shadows and natural white levels. Resolution i excellent with fine detail exhibited in set deigns, military uniforms and facial features. This is a very realistic portrayal of military action that is compelling. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1-channel soundtrack is very dynamic sounding and often loud with all the intense flying and gunfire action and the dynamic orchestral score. The music spans a wide and deep soundstage and aggressively envelops the surrounds. It is too bad that Lionsgate did not release this tile wth a Dolby Atmos or DTS:X Immersive Sound soundtrack as was the case in its theatrical run. Atmospherics and sound effects are realistic throughout. Sound effects play a powerful role in the presentation from the sounds of fighter jets, gunfire and crashes, as well as explosions. Foley sound effects are precise and realistic. Deep bass permeates the soundfield with powerful weight to enhance the action effects. Dialogue is most often ADR and a bit forward sounding. This is an exciting holosonic® soundtrack with stirring sound effects and music. (Gary Reber)
