In "Young IP Man," after an escaped convict infiltrates his school and holds all the students for ransom, a young IP Man confronts the kidnappers head on. However, he son finds himself in the middle of a dangerous conspiracy involving local authorities a well as some of the last people he would ever have expected to be part of the heinous plot. (Gary Reber)

Special features include the trailer and upfront previews.

The 2.39:1 1080p picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, was photographed digitally in anamorphic Panavision® using Panavision cameras and sourced from a 2K master Digital Intermediate format. The picture is generally mediocre and mostly tapes within the big Deli College school house. Color fidelity exhibits a golden tint with generally desaturated hues with no vividness. Flesh tones are unnatural for the most part. Contrast is compressed though blacks are decent as well as shadow delineation, White levels are desaturated. Resolution is most revealing only on closeups. Overall, this is a mediocre presentation. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1-channel soundtrack also is generally mediocre but the sonics occupy a wide soundstage that aggressively extends to the surrounds. Foley sound effects are very prominent in the fast pace fight scenes with directionalized surrounds. Overall, the soundtrack is an undistinguished presentation. (Gary Reber)
