The 2.39:1 2160p HEVC/H.265 4K Ultra HD Dolby Vision/HDR10 picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, was photographed digitally using the Arri Alexa Mini LF camera system and sourced from a 4K Digital Intermediate. Picture quality is superb with a vibrant color palette that exhibits rich and warm hues. Primaries are strong and vibrant. Flesh tones are perfectly natural. The production design exhibits settings that are realistic. HDR contrast is excellent wth deep, solid black levels, revealing shadow delineation, and bright natural white levels. Resolution is superb with fine detail revealed throughout in facial features, such as skin pores, lines, beards and hair; clothing fabrics and object textures. This is a bright, sharp and clear picture that is visually entertaining. (Gary Reber)

The Dolby Atmos/Dolby TrueHD 7.1-channel soundtrack is dynamic sounding with dimensional atmospherics and strong sound effects bolstered by deep, powerful sub-25 Hz bass delivered by the .1 LFE subwoofers. Sound effects span destruction ruckus, gunfire and all manner of special effects. Foley sound effects are quite active. The orchestral score occupies a wide and deep soundstage that extends aggressively to the surrounds. Dialogue is clear and intelligible with generally good spatial integration.

The Immersive Sound element is comprised of extensive jungle ambient directionalied atmospherics and sound effects, other sound effects such as vehicle sounds, helicopters, city din, flying pigeon, crowds, subway trains, stirring water, ambulance siren, explosions, ruckus sounds and numerous other creative sound effects. While there is no orchestral height, the effects provide an effective height layer that enhances soundfield dimensionality.

This is dynamic sounding holosibuc® spherical surround soundtrack that delivers an entertaining experience. (Gary Reber)
