In "Rick and Morty: The Anime,” Rick relaxes in a pseudo-world between multiverses, Summer helps Space Beth fight the evil Galactic Federation, and Morty falls in love with a mysterious girl who happens to be an atemporal being. (Gary Reber)

Special features include all 10 episodes from the epic anime television series.

The 1.78:1 1080p AVC picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, was animated digitally and sourced from a 2K master Digital Intermediate format. The animation is overall simplistic line drawings of characters filled in with color and varied backgrounds of similar animated art. The color palette is nicely saturated with excellent fidelity. This is a very stylistic anime movie but multiverse creatures and backgrounds are less detailed than in the original series version and exhibit a watercolor appearance. At times the anime projects a psychedelic appearance. This is a captivating anime experience that should please fans. (Gary Reber).

The DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0-channel soundtrack has options for English and Japanese languages with English subtitles. The stereo imaging is good with excellent panning of sound effects, which are numerous. The music is in Japanese and dynamic sounding. ADR dialogue is rendered intelligible with generally good spatial integration. This is well-crafted soundtrack that is constantly energized. (Gary Reber)
