The 1.78:1 1080p AVC picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, was photographed and animated digitally in anamorphic Panvision® and sourced from a 2K master Digital Intermediate format. Picture quality is excellent. The color palette exhibits nicely saturated and vivid hues, such as reds, blues and greens, as well as earthtones. Flesh tones appear natural. Contrast exhibits deep black levels, revealing shadows and natural white levels, Resolution is excellent. Facial features are revealing and Paddington's fur is nicely detailed. The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1-channne soundtrack is dynamic and fun. Atmospherics sound realistic. Sound effects are supportive of the action sequences with .1 LFE boosts. Pans are smooth. Surround energy is notable for the directional effects. Dialogue is intelligible and the ADR animal voices sound spatially integrated. This is nicely dynamic sound presentation that carries sonic fun. (Gary Reber)
