The picture exhibits a natural filmic-like appearance with a warmly hued color palette that appears realistic. Interiors exhibit realistic settings and furnishings.. Exteriors surrounding the house exhibit greenish foliage hues. Flesh tones are naturally hued, Contrast exhibits natural blacks, revealing shadows, and realistic white levels, Resolution is is generally soft throughout. Fine detail is completely absent, except at times during closeups yet the stylistic imagery is visually satisfying, This is a picture that is haunting and mysterious throughout with at times gruesomely horrific visuals, There is a 4K Ultra HD version, but it was not provided for review. The Dolby Atmos/Dolby TrueHD 7.1-channel soundtrack is dynamic with very haunting and sinister sounding ambient environmental effects. Atmospherics are enveloping and realistic throughout. Sound effects are often intense. There is rain and thunder throughout that cascades down and throughout the sound field with powerful effect. Sound effects such as heavy door thumps and falls, deliver intensity. Foley sound effect are in perfect sync with picture. The synthesizer score is spookily haunting and spans a wide and deep soundstage that aggressively extends to envelop the surrounds,and at times is directional. Dialogue is intelligible with generally good spatial integration The opening scenes features a discrete sound field pan of eerie dialogue. .
The Immersive Sound element is comprised of an extension of the score to the height layer, light din and atmospherics and the occasional eerie sound effect, such as intense thunder and rain. These sound elements provide an effective enhancement to spatial dimensionality.
