In "Prisoner Of War," a British RAF Wing Commander during World War II is captured and forced to fight in a Japanese internment camp. (Gary Reber)

Special features include the trailer and upfront previews.

The 2.39:1:1 1080p picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, was photographed digitally and sourced from a 2K master Digital Intermediate format. The picture exhibits a stylize gritty appearance in the Philippines jungle and the Japanese prisoner camp with its dirt floors and wood prisoner holding shack, The color palette is awash with shades of brown that reflect the camp setting. The prisoners ware t-shirts either white or brownish, while the Japanese soldiers are dressed in brown uniforms with their officers in greenish uniforms. Colors appear natural and realistic, as well as generally dull. Nothing pops. Flesh tones appear natural and realistic. Contrast is realistic. Black levels are solid. Shadows reveal depth and shadings. Resolution is excellent with revealing facial detail and complexions. Uniforms and clothing are realistic and reveal fabric detail. The camp setting is detailed and dressed as well as the sets. Objects are detailed, such as stick and rifle weapons. This is a very realistic portrayal of how a World War II prisoner camp would probably look with the prisoners and soldiers realistic throughout. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1-channel soundtrack is dynamic sounding with thunderous bass support to enhance the foundational aspects and the action sequences. Sound effects are comprised of aircraft, stick beating, fighting jabs, bombs, explosions and gunfire. All sounds convincing and dramatic. Atmospherics include strong thunder. The orchestra score is haunting and brooding, and occupies a wide soundstage that aggressively extends to the surrounds. Bass is deep with powerful .1 LFE pounding to sub-25 Hz. Surround energy is strong with extension of the music and action sequences that energize and envelop the sound field. Dialogue sounds generally integrated well, even the ADR though at times wanting in spatially.. This is a well crafted holosonic® soundtrack that delivers powerful sonics within a dangerous setting. (Gary Reber)
