The 2.39:1 HEVC/H.265 Ultra HD Dolby Vision/HDR10 picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, was photographed in anamorphic Panavision® on 35 mm Eastman film using the Panavision Panaflex Gold II, Panavision Panaflex Gold and Moviecam Compact camera systems and sourced from a restoration and 4K master Digital Intermediate. The presentation appears to have been generated from a theatrical print rather than the razor-sharp appearance of an original camera negative scan. Film grain is visible but not excessive and never objectionable. Textures are softer. While colors appear slightly dialed-back. the picture is colorfully natural with warm hues that appear realistic. Color shadings are nuanced. Colors often pop, especially during party and club scenes. The imagery is generally brightly illuminated. Flesh tones are rather prominent and always natural. HDR contrast is excellent, Black levels are natural. Shadow delineation is well defined. White levels appear well li and illuminated. Resolution reveals barely perceivable fine details in facial and body features, costumes, structural and set features and objects. This is a rather raw, rather comedic, picture set in the behind-the-scenes goings-on of the adult film industry. (Gary Reber)
A DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1-channel soundtrack is provided, not the Dolby TrueHD 5.1 as was previously. The dialogue focused soundtrack is driven by an energetic pop music score that is nicely forward sounding, as well as dynamic sounding. Atmospherics sound realistic. Sound effects effectively support the action. And Foley sound effects enhance the realism. The music is nicely recorded and presented across the soundstage with extension the surrounds. While atmospherics bleed into the surrounds, it is the music that dominants. Bass extension relates to the low frequencies of the beat in the music. Dialogue is intelligible with decent spatial integration. This is a fun holosonic® soundtrack that entertains, (Gary Reber)
