But what begins as a dream job quickly unravels into something far more dangerous — a sexy, seductive game of secrets, scandal, and power. Behind the Winchesters’ closed doors lies a world of shocking twists that will leave you guessing until the very end. (Gary Reber)

The 12.39:1 1080p picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, was photographed digitally using the Sony CineAlta Venice 2 camera system and sourced from a 4K Digital Intermediate. The setting is the Winchester family house and off-set urban environments. Picture quality is absolutely gorgeous. T he imagery throughout is perfectly natural and realistic. The color palette exhibits nicely saturated hues that are warm and rich. Contrast is excellent. Black levels re deep and solid. Shadow delineation is realistic. White levels are natural. Resolution is revealing of fine detail and texture throughout. Facial features reveal fine skin tones, pores, lines, beards and hair. Clothing is nicely textured, The Winchester house's furnishings are perfectly detailed. Objects also reveal fine detail. This is a beautiful picture that is nicely filmic. (Gary Reber)

The Dolby Atmos/Dolby TrueHD 7.1-channel soundtrack is dynamic sounding with forward music segments and powerful transient sound effects. These elements provide eerie support for the otherwise dialogue focused proceedings. Atmospherics are realistic throughout. Sound effects excite the intense action. Bass extension is deep and powerful. Transients excite the sound field. Foley sound effects are precise. The orchestra/choral score spans a wide and deep soundstage with extension to the surrounds for envelopment. There are also segments of songs with a strong presence. At times, surround energy is powerful and sound field enveloping. Dialogue is intelligible with generally satisfying spatial integration.

The Immersive Sound element is comprised of segments of the orchestral/choral score, sans the vocal music, to the height layer as well as very nuanced atmospherics and Foley sound effects, and brief sound effects such as thunder.and lightning, door poundings, crashing falls and other minor nuanced sound effects. Overall, the orchestra/choral score provides enhanced dimensionality but far more treatment could have been realized.

This is an e eerily mysterious holosonic® soundtrack that delivers psycho excitement. (Gary Reber)
