In Megamind, super hero Megamind's (Ferrell) dreams have come true when he captures the damsel in no distress (Fey) and conquers the city's protector Metro Man (Pitt), gaining control of Metro City. But when a new villain (Hill) is created and chaos runs rampant, the world's biggest "mind" and his comic sidekick Minion (Cross) might actually be the ones to save the day. (Gary Reber)

Special features include the up-front 3-D trailer for DreamWorks' Puss In Boots.

Theatrically released in D-Cinema 3D and IMAX DMR 70 mm blowup dual-strip 3D, the 2.35:1 1080p MVC picture is terrific! The 3-D picture quality is perfectly rendered, to create a mesmerizing visual experience. The imagery effectively delivers the full extent of the 3-D palette, with technically precise use of both positive parallax depth perception and perspective and negative parallax out-of-screen dramatics. The perception of depth and volume is impressive in every scene. Megamind's blue-skinned head shows off a wonderful sense of three-dimensional volume that really adds shape to the character, especially against a backdrop of depth. A real feeling of the third dimension is always present and just amazing at times. The crowd scenes are spectacular, as are the fast-movement segments. The picture never fails to remind one of just how wonderful 3D can be when done well. The other picture-quality aspects are just at stunning, with a dazzling color palette filled with a spectrum of hues that are bold and really pop off the screen. The accompanying degree of resolution resolves the smallest, most nuanced detail and texture with impeccable clarity in every scene. Contrast is excellent, as is shadow delineation. Blacks are deep and solid, as well as natural in character. Crosstalk ghosting artifacts are virtually non-existent. The picture is pristine throughout. This is a most satisfying 3-D experience that won't disappoint. Reference quality throughout., it is one of the best executions of 3D and never fails to impress with its dazzling imagery. (Gary Reber)

The Dolby® TrueHD 7.1-channel soundtrack is wonderful, with an amazing holosonic® enveloping quality and superb use of directionalized surround sound. The soundtrack is dynamic throughout, with excellent atmospherics and sound effects enhanced with deep and powerful .1 LFE bass that always sounds natural. The music score is fluid and nicely recorded, with a wide and deep soundstage presence that balances out in the surround channels. The added two channels really specialize the soundfield with enhanced fullness and directionality. The surround channels are engaged a lot, with discrete effects and pinpoint directionalized imaging in perfect sync with the on-screen action. Most amazing is the overall sense of accurate and supportive sound placement with atmospherics and effects. Dialogue sounds perfectly natural, with good spatial integration, even in those instances when dialogue is heard off camera. This is an amazing soundtrack experience that is thoroughly engaging and complementary to the 3-D experience. (Gary Reber)
