Caught between the land of the living and the "Land Of The Dead" is the plot of this movie. Zombies gain limited intelligence and decide to extract revenge on humans residing in the fortified city. Meanwhile, the greedy humans are fighting amongst themselves. (Tricia Spears)

On the high-definition side of this disc is commentary with Director George Romero, Producer Peter Grunwald, and Editor Michael Dohert. On the standard definition side you will find a the same commentary track; 13-minute making-of featurette; an eight-minute John Leguizamo-led on-location tour; a ten-minute look at all those zombies, an amuzing 13-minute featurette, "When Shaun Met George," with stars from "Shaun of the Dead" on their cameos; a three-minute "Zombie Effects: From Green Screen To Finished Scene"; and a 60-second "Scream Tests: Zombie Casting Call" computer-generated reenactment of the zombies strutting their stuf.

Blacks are incredibly deep in the 2.35:1 HD DVD picture, which also features satisfying contrast and shadow delineation. Colors are vibrant and well saturated, but details can be soft. (Danny Richelieu)

Fidelity is improved slightly in the Dolby® Digital Plus encoding, although it still can sound one-dimensional at times, and dialogue can be lost in the cacophony of sound in many scenes. (Danny Richelieu)
