In A Thousand Words, fast-talking Jack McCall (Murphy) says whatever it takes to close a deal. But after stretching the truth with a spiritual guru, he suddenly finds his life depending on a magical tree with 1,000 leaves...one for every word he has left. Now Jack's got to stop talking and conjure up some outrageous ways to communicate or he's a goner. (Gary Reber)

Special features include 11 deleted scenes (HD 12:52), an alternate ending (HD 02:03), up-front previews, and an UltraViolet digital copy.

The 2.40:1 1080p AVC picture is terrific, with outstanding color fidelity and resolution. Hues are perfectly saturated throughout with rich, vibrant tones that exhibit impressive warmth. Fleshtones are accurate and finely toned. Contrast is excellent with deep, solid blacks and revealing shadow delineation. Resolution is rendered with fine, exquisite detail exhibited throughout. This is a perfect visual experience that is vividly engaging. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack is unusually active for a dialogue-focused comedy, even though Eddie Murphy plays as if a silent actor. Atmospherics are supportive, along with the occasional sound effect bolstered by .1 LFE energy. The orchestra music score plays a cartoon in some respects but is a fun sonic experience with an enveloping surround presence. Dialogue sounds natural, with effective integration spatially. This is an energetically fun soundtrack that perfectly complements the engaging comedic and heartwarming storytelling. (Gary Reber)
