In Silent House, Sarah (Olsen) is sealed inside her family's secluded lake house with no contact to the outside world. Panic soon turns to terror as events become increasingly ominous. Based on the film La Casa Muda produced by Gustavo Hernandez. (Gary Reber)

Special features include commentary with Co-Director Chris Kentis and Screenwriter/Co-Director Laura Lau, up-front previews, D-BOX® Motion Code™, BD-Live functionality, and an UltraViolet digital copy.

The 1.85:1 1080p AVC picture is generally mediocre, with a combination of fixed and hand-held jittery movement. Lighting is mostly from flashlight or portable lamp or candle, so the film is dark. Still, shadow delineation is acceptable, but black levels are undefined. Other hues appear natural, as well as fleshtones. Resolution is softly focused with generally poor detail. The imagery is not particularly distinguished or engaging for a thriller. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack is often dead silent. The haunting orchestral music score heightens the mood but surround envelopment is subtle. Occasional atmospherics and sound effects burst out, aided with sudden .1 LFE deep bass energy. Dialogue is consistently intelligible with decent spatial integration. (Gary Reber)
