In The Lucky One, U.S. Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault (Efron) returns from his third tour of duty in Iraq with the one thing he credits with keeping him alive—a photograph he found of a woman he doesn't even know. Discovering her name is Beth (Schilling) and where she lives, he shows up at her door, and ends up taking a job at her family-run local kennel. Despite her initial mistrust and the complications in her life, a romance develops between them, giving Logan hope that Beth could be much more than his good luck charm. Based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks. (Gary Reber)

Special features include three featurettes: Zac Efron Becomes A Marine (HD 06:12), Watch The Sparks Fly—The Romantic World Of The Lucky (HD 06:24), and Zac And Taylor's Amazing Chemistry (HD 04:56); and upfront previews.

The 2.40:1 1080p AVC picture is beautifully rendered with an absolutely natural appearance and perfect color balance. Hues are rich and warm, with no exaggeration. Fleshtones are also naturally hued. Contrast is well balanced with deep, solid blacks and revealing shadow delineation. Resolution is revealing of fine detail textures. A slight grain permeates, for a cinematic look that is pleasingly engaging. This is a nicely photographed picture that will not disappoint. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack is conventionally produced with a lush orchestral music score that sets the mood. Atmospherics and the occasional sound effects are dimensionally effective and provide surround envelopment. Dialogue is intelligible and balanced but not always well integrated spatially. Deep bass and .1 LFE energy is limited to the more dramatic segments and is especially effective in the war scenes and during a thunderstorm. Overall, this is a lighthearted but nicely delivered sonic experience. (Gary Reber)
