The four zany zoo denizens in the original Madagascar, Marty (Rock), Alex (Stiller), Gloria (Smith) and Melman (Schwimmer), make their way back home to New York City by joining a traveling circus to blend in as they cross Europe. But a pesky French animal control officer and their new circus friends create a hilarious European adventure unlike anything you've ever seen. (Gary Reber)

The 1.78:1 1080p MVC animated 3D picture quality is fantastic!. Colors are saturated but not exaggerated, presenting a natural palette of vivid and rich and warm hues that will dazzle your eyesight. The striking and bold colors are well balanced and pop off the screen! Contrast is perfectly balanced. Blacks are deep and solid throughout, and shadow delineation is superb, with excellent resolution in the darker scenes. Resolution is incredibly detailed, sharp, and clear. There is absolutely no noise or other artifacts, for an extremely pristine digital sourced picture, with no noticeable artifacts or crosstalk ghosting, for a perfect visual 3D experience. The 3D rendering is one of the finest, if not the best to date, and integrates both negative and positive parallax depth perspectives for a visual ride within and out front of the screen. DreamWorks animators have made the most of 3D's immersive technique, to craft dimensional support for the storytelling. This is truly a reference-quality 3D picture that deserves the highest praise. This is one beautiful picture and exhibits incredible textural depth, dimension, and detail. The picture is reference quality throughout. (Gary Reber)

The Dolby® TrueHD 7.1-channel soundtrack is well produced and delivers a holosonic® enveloping soundfield, with aggressive directionalized surrounds and pans. The added two channels provide full immersive support to the dimensionality of the soundfield. Foley sound effects are excellent as well. Dialogue, which sounds nicely integrated is, of course, ADR produced but with effective spatial integration. The real standout is the music score, which drives this soundtrack throughout. The sound is spacious, with a wide and deep soundstage and an enveloping surround presence. Instrumental timbre is nicely captured and the dynamics are superb. Sound effects and music often attain high SPLs, but bass extension in the LFE .1 channel, while deep, is limited and never exaggerated. Overall, this is a terrific soundtrack, with invigorating moments of aggressive surround envelopment and directionalized dimensionality. (Gary Reber)
