There's trouble brewing in peaceful Glenview, Ohio. That's why four civic-minded citizens, armed with flashlights, walkie-talkies, and spiffy new jackets, have teamed up to safeguard their community in "The Watch." But the guys find more than they bargained for when they uncover an alien plot to destroy Earth, and now these bombing heroes are Glenview's only chance to save the neighborhood—and the world—from annihilation. (Gary Reber)

Special features include 12 deleted scenes (HD 24:39); a gag reel (HD 03:41); Jonah alternate takes (HD 05:39); three featurettes: "Watchmakers" (HD 12:16), "Alien Invasions & You" (HD 01:48), and "Casting The Alien" (HD 05:25); the theatrical trailer, upfront previews; BD-Live functionality; and a digital copy.

The 1080p AVC picture is vividly appealing throughout with a bright, saturated color palette and well-balanced contrast with deep, solid blacks and revealing shadow delineation. Hues are rich and warm, yet vibrant with strong primaries. Resolution is a bit softly focused with close-ups exhibiting nuanced detail in facial features, hair, clothing, and object texture. This is a fun depiction of suburban America that looks great. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack sounds conventional with forward ADR dialogue that is wanting in spatial integration. Atmospherics and focus are generally frontal focused during dialogue segments, but when the action heats up the soundfield intensifies with an aggressive directional soundfield and dynamic music support, but orchestral and rock. Sound effects are heightened with impactful .1 LFE deep bass. This is a fun soundtrack that nicely supports the outrageous dialogue and alien invasion premise. (Gary Reber)
