In The Words, Rory Jansen (Cooper) is a young literary hopeful who risks it all to become a success. While on their honeymoon in Paris, Rory and his wife Dora (Saldana) step inside an antique shop where they find a briefcase that will later reveal the key to the career he has always desired... but the find comes with a steep price. The dramatic story within a story exposes the strong effects that life's choices can have on us all. (Gary Reber)

Both the theatrical (01:37:09) and extended special edition (01:42:41) are available. Special features include four featurettes: Unabridged: A Look Behind the Scenes Of The Words (HD 08:30), A Gentlemen's Agreement (HD 01:44), Clay And Daniella (HD 01:12), and The Young Man And Celia (HD 01:09); upfront previews; and an UltraViolet digital copy.

The 1.85:1 1080p AVC picture is perfectly natural in appearance, with an appealing warmth. The color palette exhibits rich and warm hues, with fleshtones that are accurately rendered. Contrast is excellent with deep, solid blacks and revealing shadow delineation. Resolution is excellent, with fine detail revealed in facial features, hair, clothing, and object texture. Fine detail is exquisite. The flashback segments are warmly hued and filtered with slight visual grain. This is a wonderful, engaging visual experience. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack is quietly nuanced throughout, with excellent dialogue integration. The orchestral music score is expansive and emotionally involving, with subtle immersive surround envelopment. Atmospherics are subtlety defined but effectively communicative. While not dynamic sounding, this is a beautifully nuanced sonic experience. (Gary Reber)
