Based on the Graphic Novel by Joseph Kosinski, Oblivion stars Tom Cruise as Jack Harper, the lone security repairman stationed on a desolate, nearly-ruined Earth. When he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft, her arrival triggers a nonstop chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows, and leaves humanity's fate in his hands.(Gary Reber)

Special features include commentary with Tom Cruise and Director Joseph Kosinski, four deleted scenes (HD 04:25), the five-part making-of featurette Promise Of A New World (HD 48:13), M83's entire isolated score in 5.1 96/24 Dolby® TrueHD, upfront previews, and an UltraViolet digital copy.

The 2.37:1 1080p AVC picture is visually stunning, with image quality that is superb. Photographed digitally with the Red Epic camera system, resolution is sharp and clear with fine detail exhibited in facial features, hair, clothing, and object texture. The warmer-hued tower station interior contrasts with the cold blue atmospherics and the desolate topography of an apocalyptic Earth. Colors are often naturally hued and never exaggerated. Fleshtones are perfectly natural. Contrast is perfect, with deep and solid blacks and revealing shadow delineation. This is such a gripping, reference-quality visual experience that is perfectly presented. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 7.1-channel soundtrack is excellent, sounding dynamic and holosonic® in soundfield dimensionality. Atmospherics and sound effects are effectively nuanced and intense, depending on the scene. The stronger effects are supported with realistic .1 LFE sub-25 Hz. M83's orchestral synthesized music score is hauntingly beautiful and emotionally stimulating. The music spans a wide and deep soundstage and extends aggressively to the surrounds. Dialogue is perfectly integrated spatially and sounds absolutely natural. Fidelity is superb throughout. The added two channels to the back of the soundfield conform to the theatrical Dolby 7.1 surround format. Surround envelopment is aggressive, both in terms of subtle and robust sonic effect. This is a wonderful sonic experience that perfectly engages the listener, to instill a sense of believability. For those appreciative audiophiles check out the sonics of M83's entire isolated score in 5.1 96/24 Dolby® TrueHD in the special features. This is a wonderful sonic experience that perfectly engages the listener, to instill a sense of believeability. (Gary Reber)
