From the Middle East to the United States of America, and everywhere in between, oil is a valuable commodity that is heavily relied on by all members of society. The oil business is a ruthless one, and no one understands this more than CIA agent Bob Barnes (Clooney). Greed, corruption, he's been a part of it all, but one thing he never planned on was becoming a scapegoat—and suddenly, that's exactly what he is. Syriana is based on the book entitled See No Evil by Robert Baer. (Tricia Spears)

In addition to the same nine-minute interview with George Clooney, 11-minute" Make A Change, Make A Difference" featurette, three deleted scenes, and theatrical trailer found on the DVD and HD DVD, this Blu-ray Disc title also includes the 26-minute documentary "Weaving Reality Into Drama" and a seven-minute conversation with Matt Damon. And unlike the DVD and HD DVD, there are no up-front ads!

The 2.38:1 Blu-ray Disc image is slightly less resolved than the HD DVD release, although it is impossible to say at this point how much of that is due to the Samsung BD-P1000 "reference" player's noise reduction circuitry. (Danny Richelieu)

The Dolby® Digital 5.1-channel soundtrack is slightly less articulate than the HD DVD's Dolby Digital Plus encoding, with slightly edgy vocals and a less broad dynamic range. (Danny Richelieu)
