When six scientists are missing and feared dead, Reporter Polly Perkins (Paltrow) is on the case. And after giant robots invade the city, Joe Sky Captain (Law) is called on to save the day. Polly pays a visit to Joe, who at first wants nothing to do with her, asking him to join forces. Their mission is to save the scientists And the planet before it's too late. Can it be done or will the evil Dr. Totenkopf (Olivier) destroy The World Of Tomorrow once and for all? (Tricia Littrell)

Special features include commentary by Producer Jon Avent, and commentary by Writer and Director Kerry Conran and the VFX Crew—Production Designer Kevin Conran, Animation Supervisor Steve Yamamoto and Visual Effects Supervisor Darin Hollings. The Brave New World behind-the-scenes featurettes are shown in two parts, the 28-minute Chapter 1 and the 24-minute Chapter 2. The Art Of World Of Tomorrow is an eight-minute illustration display explaining the creation of the robots and characters shown in the film. There's also an original six-minute short; two deleted scenes, the Totenkopf's Torture Room and The Conveyor Belt; a gag reel; previews; and up-front ads.

The heavily stylized 1.78:1 VC-1-encoded picture looks very good. The dream-like glow, desaturated colors, and inconsistent focus complement the storytelling very well, but also make it difficult to see any huge difference over the DVD. Edge enhancement is not a problem, and the HD-originated imagery is free from source element artifacts and provides fantastic detail in fine textures. While the picture is anything but natural looking, it is quite good. (Danny Richelieu)

The Dolby® Digital Plus and DTS® Digital Surround™ encodings are impressive, with good staging around the holosonic™ 360-degree sound field and well-recorded dialogue. Fidelity is impressive, which, combined with the mix, creates a very natural soundstage. Deep bass is delivered in each of the full-range channels, although the LFE channel is not used as effectively as it probably should be. The soundtrack is very enjoyable, however. (Danny Richelieu)
