WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
“Noises Off...” is the hilariously funny, all-star comedy based on the play by Michael Frayn in which a group of ridiculously inept stage actors rehearse a Broadway-bound play. Everything that could go wrong goes wrong in this behind the scenes raucous, riotous romp of a stage farce. The Amblin Entertainment/Peter Bogdanovich project is based on a real stage comedy with its three acts of escalating pandemonium. The cast is superb, featuring some of today’s biggest comedy favorites in a setting ripe for lots of belly gags as they play out their ineptitudes and jealousies. This is a fun movie to enjoy with family and friends.

LaserDisc Picture:
The transfer is matted to the theatrical aspect ratio 1.85:1. The picture quality is sharp and pristine with excellent color fidelity and balance that is a pleasure to view.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The real treat is the aggressive Dolby Surround® soundtrack which is fabulous. Every gag is accentuated with a sound effect bedded in a soundfield ambience that shifts in atmosphere with each directional move.
