WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
This Howard W. Koch production of Ghost is a touching love story told as a supernatural mystery-thriller. Patrick Swayze plays a ghost who teams with a psychic (Whoopi Goldberg) to uncover the truth behind his murder, and to rescue his sweetheart (Demi Moore) from a similar fate. America fell in love with Ghost, making it the number one film of 1990.

LaserDisc Picture:
The digital video transfer appears to suffer from slightly reddish looking face tones. Otherwise it looks near projected film. The transfer appears to be at about 1.78:1 instead of the 1.85:1 theatrical projection. There is no visible video noise nor other artifacts that degrade the picture. Much of the picture’s dark areas provide good shadow detail.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The Dolby Surround® mix is aggressive. The sound effects complement the on- screen action with a very dynamic presentation and excellent bass extension.
