WSR Narrative Review |

Story Synopsis:
This Special Edition features a behind-the-scenes interview with director Martha Coolidge, commentary and more. “Rose.” played by Dern, is a lost-soul-of-a-girl whose budding sexuality upsets the close-knit family she goes to work for in 1930s Georgia.
LaserDisc Picture:
The picture transfer is stunning and preserves the intended aspect ratio, 1.75:1. The color fidelity and balance including the yellowish tone are accurate. There is not a trace of noise or other artifacts. Clarity and detail are outstanding.
LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The beautiful orchestrated Elmer Bernstein musical score and the other elements of the soundtrack are superb. The Dolby Surround® envelops to nicely support the mood.
