WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Winner of six Academy Awards including Best Picture, this vivid musical versio n of Dicken’s immortal story (“Oliver Twist”) about a young orphan whose misadventures leads him to a group of petty theives (with Moody brilliant as Fagan) will delight just about everyone with lively, energetic and witty song and dance numbers.

LaserDisc Picture:
Unfortunately, the picture is discolored and inflicted in parts with an orange tint which occasionally appears at the top of the matte. The compressed composition from 2.35:1 to 2.55:1 is an attempt to hide the problem.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
This is one of the grandest movie musicals as well as one of the greatest family motion pictures ever produced. It is guaranteed joy with it beautifully photographed and choreographed song-and-dance numbers such as “Consider Yourself,” and “Who Will Buy?.”
