Subscribe FreeThe three films are presented in the CAV Standard Play 30-minute per side LaserDisc format, each film consisting of three platters in individually bound black star field jackets within a (fingerprint prone) gloss black outer sleeve and marked on the spine as Sides 1-6 Star Wars, Sides 7-12 The Empire Strikes Back, and Sides 13-18 Return Of The Jedi. Within each outer sleeve set the film is presented along with an alternative audio track (although sparse), interviews, production stills, original theatrical teasers and trailers, and other features. The box set also contains a guide booklet descriptive of LaserDisc production credits, the filmmakers interviewed and the subject to which they speak, as well as the chapter stop sequences in which each is found on the analog audio tracks. Side 6 of each film set contains the chapter stop guide to the supplemental materials and various points of interest. There also is a hardcover book, George Lucas The Creative Impulse, written by film critic Charles Champlin (1992).
In Return Of The Jedi, Han Solo is rescued from certain death at the hands of slimy slug crime lord Jabba The Hutt and Luke Skywalker completes his Jedi training by successfully confronting Darth Vader.
