WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Money For Nothing is a wry comedy for everyone who’s ever dreamt of instant millions. The story is about an unemployed dockworker, Joey Coyle (John Cusack), who comes upon a bagful of unmarked $100 bills that has fallen out of an armored van. Outlandish trouble arises when Joey decides to keep the fortune, during which the chance discovery launches a buying spree and a series of uproaring events and chases which end in the inevitable.

LaserDisc Picture:
The transfer is properly framed at 2.35:1. Overall the picture looks natural except for some inconsistencies in fleshtones which have a reddish hue. Image detail is good although the focus is soft in some scenes. Shadow and black detail is excellent and colors are fully saturated and naturally rendered. The transfer is clean with no glaring artifacts to mar the picture.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack features an outstanding music score composed by Craig Safan that produces a nice bass effect. Fidelity is excellent with consistently clear dialogue. Some scenes are rendered with a subtle surround envelopment.
