WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Mel Brooks’ Robin Hood: Men In Tights is a spoof on all the romantic swashbuckling movies ever filmed, not to mention the legacy of Robin Hood. With a cast of Hollywood favorites, the movie attempts to follow the classic tale very “Brooksley.” Robin returns from the Crusades, falls in love with Maid Marian and along with his forest full of merry men frees the peasants from their tyrant, Prince John and the Sheriff of Nottingham. Mel Brooks himself appears in a short segment as Rabbi Tuckman, a specialist in discount circumcisions and purveyor of quality wines.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture is matted at 1.85:1. Overall, the picture appears to have a soft edge. Colors are well balanced and vibrant with excellent contrast, but flesh tones are slightly yellowish in hue. No marring artifacts are to be found in what is a very pleasing look.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
Great stereo sound that is well defined and spatial with enveloping surrounds punctuated with a brilliant Hummie Mann score.
