WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
On Deadly Ground stars Steven Seagal as a tough renegade oil well fire fighter in the remote wilderness of Alaska. A dangerous situation develops when Forrest Taft (Seagal) confronts a meanspirited Michael Jennings (Michael Caine), President of Aegis Oil, who’s put profit over environmental safety at deadly costs. With action packed suspense set against the extraordinary beauty of Alaska, Taft uses the high level combat and martial arts training he received as a CIA operative to put the Aegis hit men in their place.

LaserDisc Picture:
The 2.32:1 picture is overall solid without grain or noise artifacts, except for a couple of indoor lit scenes. Fleshtones are accurate and the picture is sharp.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack registered extremely deep and powerful bass response down to 25 Hz! And features a dynamically aggressive surround presence with an equally in-tense bass response that will test the mettle of any home theatre system. The music score is excellent. Overall the sound character is a bit harsh but dynamic.
