WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Shadowlands stars Anthony Hopkins as C.S. Lewis, the world-renowned writer and professor. The story is based on the autobiography of this crafty gentleman who lead a very intellectual and distant life—unmarried and untouched by any great love, until he meets Joy Gresham (Winger).

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture has been reframed at 2.28:1. The perfectly solid picture has no noise or other artifacts. Images are sharp with excellent resolution and shadow detail. Colors are well balanced and vibrant with excellent contrast and natural fleshtones.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is conventional movie stereo, but the surround track often delivers with subtle ambience. Dialogue is natural and always intelligible and the orchestral and choral music score is wonderful.
