WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Fiorile (Wild Flower) is an epic tale of intrigue, betrayal and murder. The story is about the Benedetti family and its ill-gotten wealth which has brought upon them a curse that has haunted the family for generations. The modern segment of the film has Luigi Benedetti telling his children the mysterious and magical story of their ancestors—from a young French soldier who sacrifices his life for a beautiful Italian peasant girl, to a sister’s ultimate act of ven-geance. The beautiful Tuscany countryside serves as backdrop for this provocative tale of forbidden love, passion and deadly romance.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture is presented in the European 1.66:1 aspect ratio. The picture is natural in appearance with accurate fleshtones and good color fidelity. Contrast and shadow detail are good, and artifacts are few and grain is slight for an overall pleasing picture.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The digital monaural soundtrack is very well recorded. The presentation would have been better served if the sound was stereo. Dialogue intelligibility is excellent.
