WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Krull is a classic and epic fantasy adventure about the extraordinary perils faced by a brave Prince (Ken Marshall) on a dangerous quest to rescue his beloved Princess (Lysette Anthony) from the evil clutches of the Beast. A magical world of a one-eyed Cyclops, a monstrous spider, an insidious Changeling, the unearthly Firemares and an army of alien Slayers provide an imaginative trip into another world.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture is presented in its original Panavision® scope 2.35:1 aspect ratio. The filmmakers have used panoramic cinematography and dramatic lighting effects to create a visually mesmerizing production design. This is probably the reason for the overall orange cast to the picture and over saturated tone of the color balance. Orange fleshtones are, nevertheless, bothersome and unfamiliar. Then too, lots of artifacts mar the uneven picture quality.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack projects various directional sound effects to good effect. Surround envelopment is essentially provided by the music score . The opportunity was missed, however, to create an aggressive surround which perfectly fits this genre.
