WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
LéoLo is the brilliant, comedic but disturbing autobiography of a young 12-year-old boy growing up in Montreal in a family he refuses to acknowledge as his own. Lé oLo takes refuge in an imaginative fantasy world of poems and dreams where he can escape his family and the strangest of tragedies. Whether it’s dealing with his body building obsessed brother or plotting the murder of his grandfather, LéoLo is an incorrigible misfit with a lovable streak of madness. Throughout the narrative story, told through his poetic writings we see his dreams and experiences until they become as one and finally the bizarre, belligerent, and totally outrageous fantasy overcomes his life.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture has been matted at 1.75:1. Images are a bit dark and subdued, but sharp and solid with a rich texture and gorgeous cinematography. The look is natural with accurate fleshtones, good color fidelity and contrast, and good shadow detail.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is very good with an excellent surround envelopment and good bass extension. The music score is dynamic and spatial. Sound effects are effectively spread across the soundstage.
