WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Lightning Jack is a comedic western with Paul Hogan playing the title character, Lightening Jack Kane, the legendary outlaw, in his own mind. He’s quick-on-the-draw, but doesn’t quite draw the attention he desires, despite or because of a series of hilarious heists in his quest for fame. Joining him is Ben Doyle a “want to be” outlaw, wonderfully played by Cuba Gooding Jr., a literate mute who saves Lightening Jack’s life in a number of situations, but cannot handle a stick-em-up. Together they pull off a final, daring and comedic bank robbery, finally being re-warded with the recognition they desire.
