WSR Narrative Review |
|
Story Synopsis:
Mother’s Boys is based upon the novel by Bernard Taylor, and Stars Jamie Lee Curtis as Jude, a psychotic woman who unexpectedly returns to her family three years after abruptly deserting them. Her husband Robert (Gallagher) is attempting to make a happy life for he and his three boys and is also dating a woman named Callie (Whalley-Kilmer) who the children have come to accept. Jude refuses to acknowledge that the marriage is over and is determined to have her family back. Chilling.
LaserDisc Picture:
The picture has been matted at 1.85:1. Images are sharp with excellent detail and contrast, as well as color fidelity. Fleshtones are natural and blacks are deep. A slight grain is hardly noticeable in the dark scenes for a solid image with no artifacts.
LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is well crafted with natural ambience and surround envelopment. Dialogue is recorded with natural room tone.
