WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Starman is a romantic science-fiction adventure starring Jeff Bridges as an alien who crash-lands his craft outside a Wisconsin cabin owned by a young widow (Karen Allen). He reconstructs himself as her deceased husband, and with her help, travels to Arizona. He must be at a designated rendezvous spot in three days or he will die.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture is presented in its original Panavision® scope 2.35:1 aspect ratio. While the cinematography is superb, the picture suffers from severe grain and noise, as well as other visible transfer and disc pressing artifacts. Fleshtones are over saturated in some scenes, while other scenes appear washed out and undersaturated with poor shadow detail.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack delivers some very good directional and spatial effects, but the surround effects are uneven.
