WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Academy Award®-winning Bernardo Bertolucci’s Little Buddha is a dual story intercut together. The one story is about a young boy and his family in modern day Seattle, who discover the Buddhist tale of a prince in Tibet, which is told in a parallel second story. The movie begins in the Paro Monastery in Bhutan where Lama Norbu is sent on a quest to find the next Buddha who they believe has been reincarnated in the boy. As the two worlds meet, miracles and adventure emerge in this astonishing and vividly rendered film.
