WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Texas Across The River is a spoof of a Western with Dean Martin as Sam Hollis who is recruiting gunmen to help him and his Indian co-hort, played by Joey Bishop, move a shipment of guns through hostile Comanche territory. They are met at the Texas border by Don Andrea, a handsome Spanish nobleman (Alain Delon) who is trying to escape the law. He has accidentally killed the former beau of his bride-to-be and has arranged to meet her in Texas. The three mismatched travellers begin their adventures in the midst of gags galore while battling Indians, settlers and anyone

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture has been reframed at 2.20:1 and is generally sharp and detailed with natural fleshtones. Overall the look is that of TV set interiors which were in fact, filmed at Universal Studios.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The sound is undistinguished mono.
