WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Corrina, Corrina is the story of a heartbroken widower and his young daughter who find help from a warm-hearted, life-loving housekeeper, played by Whoopi Goldberg. The movie, set in the 1950’s depicts seven-year-old Molly Singer, played charmingly by Tina Majorino, as being distant and withdrawn—she hasn’t spoken since losing her mother. Her father Manny (Ray Liotta) is doing his best to cope but needs help in raising his little girl. Along comes Corrina, who with humor and insight finds a way into the heart of Molly and helps to bring magic and laughter into their lives—and yours. This is an im-mensely entertaining and satisfying movie experience with Whoopi Goldberg in top form.

LaserDisc Picture:
The 1.85:1 matted picture is really sharp and detailed with colors that are vivid and blacks that are deep and solid. The overall period look is natural with accurate fleshtones and color hues. There is no grain or noise, or artifacts that distract for a first-rate viewing experience.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack delivers nice touches of subtle surround envelopment provided by the score which features classic pop and jazz songs from the period.
