WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
It Could Happen To You is loosely based on a real life incident in which a humble New York policeman leaves a hard-luck waitress a $2 million tip from his wife’s lottery ticket winnings. Nicolas Cage plays Charlie Lange, a cop who finds he has no tip money and impulsively promises half the winnings from a lottery ticket to his waitress (Bridget Fonda). When Charlie’s ticket wins, he becomes torn between his promises and his wife’s (Rosie Perez) objections.

LaserDisc Picture:
The matted 1.80:1 picture is overall sharp and detailed with a natural look. Colors are brilliant and deeply hued with solid blacks and superb shadow detail. Some scenes are super soft but luscious in appearance. Some slight grain and noise is apparent but no artifacts.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack has subtle surrounds but is a bit harsh overall.
