WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
The family classic Lassie is back, this time the beloved collie adopts a new family, after her master dies. The Turner’s, who are de-termined to start a new life in the country, find her lost on the highway. Lassie is especially caring with Matt, a troubled and withdrawn teenager, played by Thomas Guiry, and they soon become inseparable. When the Turner’s try their hand at sheep farming they find trouble in the form of a greedy neighboring rancher who is trying to steal their land. Lassie comes to the rescue and with unflinching loyalty she protects her new family against the conflicts and dangers that follow.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture is matted at 1.85:1. It is natural in appearance with excellent color fidel-ity, sharpness, accurate fleshtones and solid blacks. Colors are brilliant and the the picture is extremely natural in appearance. Solid is the word that best describes the look.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The Dolby Surround® soundtrack is harsh opportunities are missed for a convincing surround envelopment. But some scenes, especially the storm scene, do provide envelopment as does the music which is distorted.
