WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Robert A. Heinlein’s The Puppet Masters, based on his sci-fi thriller novel, has Donald Sutherland leading a team of top government agents who have discovered that an alien spacecraft’s cargo of stingray-shaped mind-control creatures are beginning a gradual takeover of Earth by manipulating people like puppets. The parasites attach to human backs and make their victims do their bidding. The aliens are rapidly multiplying and seem to be unstoppable in their insidious quest to conquer the earth. Can the good guys stop their spread and save the world? Great special effects and lots of action will hold your interest to the end.

LaserDisc Picture:
This great looking framed 2.35:1 Panavision® scope transfer is first-rate in every aspect—natural fleshtones, vivid colors, sharpness and detail, shadow detail, contrast and deep blacks—for a solid look, without distracting noise, grain or artifacts, that is sure to please.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is conventional movie stereo with ambience provided y the music. Fidelity is mediocre but there is excellent bass extension.
