WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Four unlikely heroes cross paths on the dusty Western trail to Silverado. Paden, Emmett, Jake & Mal (Kline, Glenn, Costner & Glover) have their different reasons for journeying to the sleepy little town, but when they arrive and discover that the town has been taken over by a corrupt sheriff and his lawless “deputies,” they all agree that they must band together and defeat the bad guys. But of course they have to make time for drinkin’, fightin’, carousin’ and spittin’ as well. Yeee Ha!

LaserDisc Picture:
The Super 35 “scope” picture is framed at 2.33:1. While there are various scene to scene color fidelity inconsistencies and artifacts, the colors are richly hued with deep, solid blacks and natural fleshtones. The panoramic vistas of desert, meadows, and rocky inclines provide a visually pleasing experience.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack has subtle surround envelopment, but it is limited to the music score and to the occasional ambient effect. Fidelity is wanting and Foley effects are not well integrated.
